Winter comes

I've already started planning my social events for the Winter Holidays....What could be better than gathering with friends...

I recalled when I was still working@ 'HIT' & 'CSX', most of the colleagues would buy x'mas gifts for 'all others'. That means you gotta pick a gift for every colleagues and you'll receive a gift from each of them in return. (This many-to-many gift system is not exactly compulsory but most of them will follow this tradition) It's quite painful to search for a nice x'mas gift yet you could have v. good excuse to shop and shop around. And afterall, it's so happy to have a full bag of gifts so that you could unwrap them one-by-one....(I usually can't help to unwrap all at one time)

This year...the many-to-many system is away from me...so no more headaches for X'mas gifts...but I still wanna spend my limited budget to buy gifts for my beloved friends...

Hope I could search a nice gift for you ~
If you do not hear from me during X'mas...maybe you're on the Chinese New Year's gift list..

Thanksgiving

Received a warm greetings from Hubby...reminding me that it's thanksgiving day soon..

Last year, when I was in U.S...I tried to cook a Turkey...my very first time..
I viewed receipe online and picked one I think is the most traditional one and not too difficult for turkey-cooking-beginner.

It was a thrilled process..When I unpacked the big bird, I realised that it was really totally not looks like a bigger chicken...It's a v.v.v.v..v big chicken! The one I bought was only a medium size 11.x lbs ...How could other housewives cook the really big one?

It took more than 3 hrs baking time and about 2 hrs to do all the pre-oven work.

It tastes 'like-turkey' finally..."Personally..I don't think Turkey is a 'taste-good' food".

And I thought of McMull after the thanks-giving day....his long suffer with the Turky-aftermath....Turkey salad...turkey congee....etc etc..

Plan "B"

My cousin together with her husband came to visit me and went swimming with me this morning. She is pregnant and expecting the delivery after 3 months. I am excited about it and by that time, I will be 'promoted' as 'Auntie Carinna'--> 表姨 ?

Hugo & I love 'baby' too. We also plan to have our baby (babies) in the coming years. However, it's not a simple decision and i do think there's some prerequisite to meet. So we gotta have a 'Plan-B' first.

Pray God for the best Plan-B.

Dream Wedding

My own wedding has already been accomplished but I still have 'fantasy' in wedding. I love to attend weddings as it's so delighted to feel the love of the couple and witness the exchange of vows.

I've already received 5 wedding invitations in the coming months ~ those are my very best friends' weddings. I am so happy for them and hope they could enjoy organising the once-in-a-lifetime event. Yes, organising a wedding is quite complicated and the couple may argue on little details but like Unversity O'camp or writting a paper.....You can get the max. satisfaction once you pass all the hurdles. It's really worth it!

Gotta set up a gift fund.....
Please do let me know your wedding date and let me have enough time to save $$ :)

First Wedding Anniversary

Today, first of August, two thousand and eight, is our first wedding anniversary. It's pretty amazing and unbelievable that we have already been married for a year. Maybe happy time really passes more faster than you could imagine. People have been asking and wondering how we could manage to stay physically apart after married. I would say with no doubt it is a tough situation to cope with. That's why I appreciate so much what my wife has done to make this happen smoothly and to convert all the possible unhappiness into joyfulness!

Happy Anniversary!

Wow....our 1st Anniversary!! The images of our wedding are still so vivid and fresh that I can't believe that it all happened 365 days ago. It's really difficult for us to stay apart...We always miss each other but both of us tried to be tough and fully utilise our free time so that there's not much room to feel the loneliness.

Married life is sweet and happy because you know your better-half stand-by and support you all the time. You can rely on him and always get his comfort.

I have lived with my parents-in-law for around 8 months now and things are running on track. It is not easy to live with parents-in-law, simply because we have different family culture, however, try to look from their angles...life would be easier. Try not to get consensus at all times, it is impossible to set a too ideal picture ....I learnt to relax when things are not under my control.

Wish God would give me more wisdom to handle problems and fix family issues.

I'd like to say thanks to our family and our dear friends for their love and support throughout the year. They are my 'emotion-pillars' :P

--------(talking a bit too far, rite.....)

Happy Anniversary, my hubby...See you soon...

Our news update

I have returned to Hong Kong and started my new job already. Yes, we're now physically apart. Hugo is staying in U.S and continuing his busy research. It is uneasy for us but with our rich experience in keeping long distance relationship, we managed to survive after all these sleepless nights.

I am now living with my parents-in-law. We're a 'Cook-free"family because each of us need to work and we have dinner outside every weekdays. Still trying to figure out some ways to live more healthier.

My new colleagues are all nice and helpful. The culture is totally different from HIT, my previous company. I need to get familiarised with the work flow and all the regulations here with a different sets of mind. I confessed that I was wrong to perceive that most of the civil servants are lazy and stupid. After a 1-week training, I realised that the job is actually quite fasinating and people in the same rank are actually smart and committed. I will try to perform well and get into my job.
