We have successfully installed the broadband network at home! GUT!
So I have arrived New Haven for a-week time. What have I done this week?
I was busy buying basic household items here and there. Thanks to Siegfried and Cheryl (S's sister) who drove us to different super stores and gave us lots of useful advice, so that we can picked up all the neccessities in 1-2 days.
I have also joined a 3-day long orientation for international spouses and partners (organised by Yale university). That was quite good. I met around 10 friends from different countries: Japan, Korea, Russia, France, Middle East, Holland...etc..) We went through some ice-breaking games on the first day then visited some "must-see" spots in town.
- Pea-body Museum http://www.yale.edu/peabody/
- Yale centre of British art http://ycba.yale.edu/index.asp
- Public Lib
- Hall of Grad students
From the orientation, I learnt that there's chance for spouses to audit courses and we can be volunteers in Library & Museum. You can engaged yourself in different activities and won't feel bored.
